Return To Castle Wolfenstein

Return to Castle Wolfenstein is nicely on track, and over half the text has been written and around 50% of the screenshots that will go into the finished text. Various other parts of the text have already been completed, such as the cheats and notes and of course, the table of contents. With the exception of the screenshots, all is still in doc format, the screenots are in jpeg format.

The walkthrough text is still going OK and there are some extra additions to it, though the JPEG formatting for the screenshots takes quite a bit of time (each screenshot actually needs 2 programmes as well as the actual game shot) before it can be made ready for the actual walkthrough!
Each walkthough requires the use of a dedicated screen-capture programme, a good graphics programme to get a clean picture, then the for the text, Microsoft Word is used for the initial text, and a desktop publishing programme to merge the text and picture elements together, these are then transformed to a pdf format to get a readable document able to be placed on the website.

All of the text to the end of "Deadly Designs, part 1" is complete, the text for "Deadly Designs, part 2" is now ongoing, as are the relevant screenshots. I have now completed this level, along with all the screenshots - now to get the 3rd part done.

Part 3 of Deadly Designs is now done, and I am now about to embark on part 4. Part 3 posed some unusual problems with regard to the screenshots, but I managed to overcome those. In fact, the resolution I have used is around 200 to 250dpi, and believe me, it takes some doing to get that result.

I have gone nearly to the end of chapter 5 so far, in fact I have just entered the final secton of the X Labs. As I have said earlier, progress is slower than I have anticipated mainly due to the problems with also having to make screenshots as I go. However, it's no use neglecting this as I will not be able to post the finished article to the 'net any sooner - in fact it may well take longer, since I would have to start again!

Well, I'm now about to enter Chateau Schufstaffel, in part 3 of Return Engagement. As I mentioned before, it's taking so long to get it done just because of the volume of screenshots - for instance there were 37 just for Paderborn Village! I know that they won't all be used, but by the same token, I also know that if I miss some, then I'm sure to need them!
I did not post earlier in the year, as what with upgrading my computer and other problems, I lost about a month and a half of work on the walkthrough. Anway, this is all sorted now, so hopefully I'll be able to report better progress in the next few months.

I have gone through The Dig at the start of Mission 7, and am just about to embark on Return to Casle Wolfenstein (Mission 7 part 2), so am getting near the end of the game. I have begun combining the text and photos, so hopefully, this is a job that will have finished soon.
